The week’s top stories reflected the stops and starts of a recovering economy: US unemployment claims rose to a two-month high, while consumer confidence remained high, despite a small drop.
Here are a few of the other stories we noticed this week on recruiting, hiring and more:
• American Express Open: Business Owner Outlook Remains Optimistic
The Spring 2012 American Express OPEN Small Business Monitor reports that 56 percent of small business owners surveyed are positive about their business prospects over the next six months. While their enthusiasm is somewhat cautious, 35 percent of those surveyed said they plan to hire full or part time employees. If your business is looking to hire, be sure you're aware of the latest compensation trends.
